MSP FOR ARGYLL & BUTE WELCOMES PILOT OF CARER SUPPORT PAYMENT

SNP MSP Jenni Minto has welcomed the introduction of the new Carer Support Payment in Argyll & Bute following the First Minister’s announcement of improved support for unpaid carers in his Programme for Government. From November, adults living in Dundee City, Na h-Eileanan an lar and Perth and Kinross can apply for the new Carer Support Payment, and those already in receipt of Carer’s Allowance automatically receiving the new payment instead from February 2024. 1,715 AFFORDABLE HOMES BUILT IN ARGYLL & BUTE UNDER THE SNP

SNP MSP Jenni Minto has welcomed recent figures that show 1,715 affordable and social homes have been completed in Argyll & Bute since 2007 – with 78 completed in 2022/23 alone. Statistics show that almost 10,500 low-cost ownership, mid-market rent, and social rent homes were completed across Scotland in the financial year 2022/23; bringing the total since SNP affordable housing programmes began in 2007 to over 122,200.
